PurposeTo observe the curative effect of the treatment of dry eye due to stagnant heat of liver meridian by using simple polyethyleneglycol eye drops(hereinafter referred to as the control group),Dan Zhi Xiao Yao San for oral administration combined with polyethylene glycol eye drops(hereinafter referred to as the Chinese medicine oral administration group),and Dan Zhi Xiao Yao San for oral administration and eye fumigation combined with polyethyleneglycol eye drops(hereinafter referred to as the Chinese medicine oral administration and eye fumigation group)to provide objective data and theoretical basis for further guiding of clinical practice and optimizing treatment methods.Methods96 patients(192 eyes)with dry eye of stagnation heat of liver meridian were diagnosed in ophthalmology clinic of People's Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2018 to November 2018.They were divided into three groups by random grouping, namely, the control group, the Chinese medicine oral administration group and the Chinese medicine oral administration and eye fumigation group. To observe the ocular surface disease index(OSDI),Schirmer I test(SIt)which is without surface anesthesia, breakup time(BUT),corneal fluorescein staining(FL)and TCM syndrome, before and after treatment(4 weeks). To analyze the differences of these indicators before and after the treatment. To compare the difference of curative effect between the three groups.Results1.96 patients(192 eyes)were enrolled in this study.Four cases(8 eyes)were eliminated, with a drop rate of 4.17%.2.Analysis of data homogeneity: There were no significant differences in gender, age, course of disease,OSDI scale,BUT,S?t,corneal fluorescein staining among the three groups(P>0.05).3.Comparison of clinical efficacy: In the control group,0 eyes were markedly effective,28 eyes were effective,32 eyes were ineffective, the total effective rate was 46.67%;In the Chinese medicine oral administration group,4 eyes were markedly effective,37 eyes were effective,21 eyes were ineffective, the total effective rate was 66.13%;In the Chinese medicine oral administration and external fumigation group,16 eyes were markedly effective,32 eyes were effective,14 eyes were ineffective, the total effective rate was 77.42%.There were significant differences between the three groups(P<0.05).4.In the control group,0 cases were markedly effective,5 cases were effective and 25 cases were ineffective. The total effective rate was 16.67%.In the Chinese medicine oral administration group,3 cases were markedly effective,16 cases were effective and 12 cases were ineffective. The total effective rate was 61.29%.In the Chinese medicine oral administration and external fumigation group,4 cases were markedly effective,17 cases were effective and 10 cases were ineffective. The total effective rate was 67.74%.There was a significant difference between the Chinese medicine oral administration and external fumigation group and the control group(P<0.05).There was significant difference between the Chinese medicine oral administration group and control group(P<0.05).There was significant difference between the Chinese medicine oral administration group and the Chinese medicine oral administration and external fumigation group(P<0.05).5.The score of the ocular surface disease index : After treatment,OSDI scores of the three groups were lower than those before treatment, with statistical significance(P<0.05).And there was no significant difference between the three groups after treatment(P>0.05).6.Tear secretion test I: After treatment, the levels of SIt in all three groups were higher than those before treatment, with mean values of 5.62 ± 1.757 mm/5 min,7.26 ± 2.072 mm/5 min,and 8.56 ± 2.726 mm/5 min, respectively. In the control group, the differences in SIt were not statistically significant before and after treatment(P>0.05),and the differences in SIt were not statistically significant before and after treatment in the other two groups(P < 0.05).After treatment, comparing the differences between the SIt in three groups, the differences were not statistically significant.(P<0.05).7.Breakup time of tear film: The average BUT of the three groups after treatment was 6.19±1.125 s,6.64±1.388 s and 7.28±1.104 s,respectively, which were longer than before treatment. There were significant differences between the three groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).There were significant differences between the internal and external fumigation of traditional Chinese medicine group and control group(P<0.05).There was no difference between traditional Chinese medicine oral administration group and control group(P>0.05).8.Corneal fluorescein staining score: The corneal fluorescein sodium staining test scores of the three groups were lower than those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, there was a significant difference between the internal and external fumigation of traditional Chinese medicine group and the other two groups(P<0.05).There was no difference between traditional Chinese medicine oral administration group and control group(P>0.05).Conclusion1.For dry eyes with stagnant heat of liver meridian,Dan Zhi Xiao Yao San for oral administration and external fumigation combined with polyethyleneglycol eye drops is superior to simple polyethyleneglycol eye drops in terms of clinical efficacy, improving the efficacy of TCM practice, promoting tear secretion, prolonging tear film rupture time and reducing corneal fluorescein staining.2.For dry eye with stagnant heat of liver meridian, oral administration and eye fumigation of Dan Zhi Xiao Yao San combined with polyethylene glycol eye drops was superior to oral administration of Dan Zhi Xiao Yao Sanr combined with spolyethyleneglycol eye drops in terms of clinical efficacy, promoting tear secretion, prolonging tear film rupture time and reducing corneal fluorescein staining.3.For dry eye with stagnant heat of liver meridian, oral administration of Dan Zhi Xiao Yao San combined with polyethyleneglycol eye drops was superior to simple polyethyleneglycol eye drops in terms of clinical efficacy, improving the efficacy of TCM practice and promoting tear secretion.
