Value Study Of Superb Microvascular Imaging On BI-RADS Category 3 And 4 Breast Masses

Objective Use superb microvascular imaging concluded the microvascular architecture patterns of breast masses on BI-RADS category 3 and 4.And To evaluate the value of superb microvascular imaging for differentiating benign from malignant breast masses on BI-RADS category 3 and 4.Methods 252 breast masses in 216 patients which were classified as BI-RADS category 3 and 4 by ultrasound were examined with ultrasound and superb microvascular imaging.The microvascular architecture patterns was used to adjust the BI-RADS classification.The results were further compared with those of pathology.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was employed to evaluate the combined use on breast masses on BI-RADS category 3 and 4.Results Among the 252 breast masses,118 cases were malignant masses,and 134 cases were benign masses.The sensitivity,specificity,positive,accuracy and negative predictive values of BIRADS 3 and 4 masses were 70.3%?81.3%?76.2%?76.9% and 75.7%,respectively.After adjustment with the correlation between BI-RADS and superb microvascular imaging,the values were changed to 89.0%?92.5%?90.9%?91.3% and 90.5%,respectively.After adjustment with the correlation method,the area under ROC curve in BI-RADS classification was 0.908,which was significantly higher than that(0.758)before the adjustment(P<0.05).Conclusion: The correlation between BI-RADS and superb microvascular imaging can improve the detection accuracy of breast masses on BI-RADS category 3 and 4,and provid more reliable evidence for treatment of some breast masses.It also reduces the need for biopsy and complication.
