ObjectiveIn this study,we investigate the expression of High-mobility group box chromosomal protein 1in eutopic/ectopic endometrium and implicated in the inflammatory pathology of adenomyosis.Method A total of 20 adenomyosis patients undergoing laparoscopy were recruited in this study. We tested the gene expression of HMGB1,IL-6,IL-8 and protein expression of HMGB1 in the eutopic endometrium with adenomyosis(EU),the ectopic endometrium with adenomyosis(EC)and the endometrium without adenomyosis(CE)。Then,we make the correlation about HMGB1 and IL-6,IL-8.Result The gene expression of IL-6,IL-8 was significantly higher in EC and EU than that in CE(P<0.01),and that EC was higher than EU(P<0.01).The gene expression of HMGB1 was significantly higher in EC and EU than that in CE(P<0.01),and that EC was higher than EU except HMG1(P<0.01).The protein expression of HMGB1 was significantly higher in EC than that in CE(P<0.01),and that EC was higher than EU except HMG1(P<0.01).Perason correlation showed that the expression of HMGB1 in the EC were positively correlated with the expression of IL-6.Among these,IL-8 was positively correlated with the expression of HMGB1 inEC(P<0.01).Conclusion Our results showed that adenomyosis is in a state of inflammatory pathology.High expression of HMGB1 in the EU and EC,which were positively correlated with the expression of IL-6,Among these,IL-8 was positively correlated with the expression of HMGB1 in EC(P<0.01)This study suggested that HMGB1 activation and related signaling pathways may be involved in the inflammatory pathological process of adenomyosis.
