Objective:To systematically evaluate the risk factors for uveitis in patients with ankylosing spondylitis(AS).Uveitis is one of the most common extra-articular manifestations of AS.Improper or untimely treatment of eye diseases can lead to blindness and seriously affect the quality of life of AS patients. Methods:Literatures about the risk factors for AS patients with uveitis were retrieved from Wanfang,China Knowledge Network(CNKI),PubMed,EMbase and The Cochrane Library from the establishment of database to November 2018.Two independent researchers screened literatures, extracted data, and evaluated quality according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, then performed Meta analysis using StataSE software. Results: Twenty-six articles met the inclusion criteria.A total of 24,615 patients with AS,the results of meta-analysis showed that six risk factors were statistically significant, with JoAS(OR=1.43,95% CI: 1.06~1.93),disease duration(SMD= 0.94,95% CI: 0.12~1.75),family history(OR=1.46,95% CI: 1.11~1.92),HLA-B27 positive(OR=1.96,95% CI: 1.39~2.76),peripheral joint involvement(OR =2.46,95% CI: 1.78~3.40),BASDAI(SMD=0.18,95% CI: 0.00~0.36).Analysis of the bias of each risk factor revealed that gender,JoAS,disease duration, peripheral joint involvement, and BASDAI risk factors were not significantly biased. Conclusion:AS patients with onset at an earlier age, family history, longer duration of disease, and HLA-B27 positive, peripheral joint involvement, and higher BASDAI scores should be screened for AS-related eye diseases to achieve earlier detection of eye diseases.Earlier treatment and improving the prognosis of patients with AS can improve the quality of life.
