Elsholtzia penduliflora W.W.Smith?Lamiaceae?is a Elsholtzia plant distributed in the Yunnan province and it is a minority medicinal material. It has been used as traditional folk medicine for the influenza, cough, sore throat and other symptoms.Yi herbal medicine Elsholtzia rugulosa Hemsl has been used in colds, detoxification and other functions. This paper applies modern separation techniques for 40 compounds were isolated and identified from the above two species of Elsholtzia plants, including two new compounds,at the same time, preliminary study on anti-H1N1 influenza virus,anti-tumor,multidrug resistance and anti-inflammatory activity of two ethnic medicinal plants. This thesis consists of four parts:the first chapter is briefly reviews the progress of anti-influenza activity in Chinese herbal medicines;the second chapter focuses on the chemical composition and biological activities of Elsholtzia penduliflora. The third chapter summarizes about the chemical constituents and biological activities of Elsholtzia rugulosa. The fourth part is to summarize and prospect of the works. This paper reviews the research progress of anti-influenza virus activity in Chinese herbal medicine.Chinese herbal medicine is a unique medicine for preventing or treating diseases in Chinese medical therapy.Confirmed by years of clinical trials,Chinese herbal medicine can inhibit the replication of the virus and prevent the pathological changes of the host cells, and can improve the efficacy of autoimmune functions,so that the flu can be cured.Previously,it has been reported that the Elsholtzia has a good anti-influenza activity, and it is a homologous medicine for medicine and food. Its low toxicity and high efficiency are the main features.Elsholtzia is the main concern point of our research group. Therefore, this report has been looking for anti-influenza virus activity from Elsholtzia. We conducted a preliminary study on the chemical constituents of Rhododendron rhubarb, and isolated and identified 24 compounds, including 1 new compound, from the ethyl acetate and n-butanol segments of 75%acetone/water extract. The type of compound relates to organic phenolic acids and their glycosides, flavonoids and the like. The new compound is named Elsholtzioxin. All compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time. The organic phenolic acid component is the main component of its rhubarb drug.In addition,we screened the crude extracts and monomeric compounds of rhubarb for anti-H1N1 activity, and established an anti-H1N1 influenza virus activity test with oseltamivir as a positive control. It was found that ethyl acetate and n-butanol were significant;meanwhile,15 monomers of rhubarb were screened and found that 1,2,7,8,9,11,16 has a concentration of 100?M had certain anti-influenza activity. At the same time,we also carried out anti-tumor and reversal of tumor and anti-inflammatory activity on the six main components of rhubarb, and found that compounds 7,8 have significant anti-inflammatory activity,IC50 is 26.64?mol/L,28.14?mol/L,respectively.We isolated 16 monomeric compounds, including 1 new compound, from 75%acetone/water extract of Elsholtzia rugulosa. The structure type of the compound involves components such as monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, and flavonoids. The new compound was named Methyl 2-O-?3,4-dihydroxybenzoyl?-4-O-?-D-glucopyranosyl-6-hydroxyphenylacetate.The monomer compound obtained was subjected to anti-H1N1,anti-tumor,multidrug resistance and anti-inflammatory activity, founding that the new compound 1,7 had certain anti-H1N1 activity.
