This thesis consists of four parts: the first chapter is a review of the research progress on the active components of antinfluenza virus in Chinese herbal medicine;the second chapter discussed the chemical composition and anti-influenza activity of Elsholtzia rugulosa Hemsl, the third chapter expounded the chemical composition of Elsholtzia bodinieri Vaniot; The last chapter is that a summary of the work has done in this paper.Influenza is a seasonal, epidemic and highly contagious respiratory disease. The main targets of the current anti-influenza drugs used in clinic are the M2 proteinion channels and neuraminidase(NA)of influenza virus. The virus that causes influenza is the RNA,which lacks the function of self correction. When the virus is replicated in the host cell, the gene mutations such as the antigenic shift and the antigenicity drift have resulted in a large degree of drug resistance in the current market. There is a lag in the mutation of the gene also leads to the preparation of the corresponding antiviral vaccine. Therefore, the search of new active targets and new mechanisms of antiinfluenza drugs have become an urgent problem to be solved in the process of the research and the development of influenza drugs. It is also an significant content of the research and development of new drugs and precursor drugs.Finding new anti-influenza drugs in Chinese herbal medicine have many advangtages, such as complex and diverse active ingredients, diffenent mechanisms of action,a variyety of targets, and long history and accumulation of experience in longterm clinical practice.Finding a safe, low toxic and cheap anti-influenza virus active ingredient from Chinese herbal medicine plays an important guiding role in the research and development of anti-influenza virus leading drugs and new drugs. The chemical constituents of the Elsholtzia plants were systematically studied in the earlier period, and the isolated chemical constituents were screened for biological activities.Triterpenoids and flavonoids isolated from these plants were found,to be with significant anti-influenza virus activity.Further study of anti-influenza active components from Perilla frutescens and plants with close genetic relationship is of great significance to obtain the monomers or precursor compounds with remarkable anti-influenza activity.Elsholtzia rugulosa Hemsl and Elsholtzia bodinieri Vaniot are two kinds of plants with close relationship of the Labiatae and Elsholtzia genus of the same family. They are two important plants with homology of medicine and food in the minority areas of Yunnan. As recorded in "Compendium of Materia Medica","Famous Doctor Bielu" and "Map of Herbaceous Sutra" and so on,these two plans have four main therapeutic effects towands common cold, typhoid fever, dysentery, sodoku and so on.It contains abundant active components anti-influenza virus, such as oleanane type triterpenoids and their glycosides, flavanols, flavonoids and flavanones. The chemical composition and anti-influenza activity of the Elsholtzia rugulosa Hemsl from the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan and the Elsholtzia bodinieri Vaniot of the Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan. The separations were conduted by column chnomatography on macroporous adsorption resin(D101),gel(MCI),dextran gel(SepHadex LH-20),200-300 mesh normal silica gel, reverse phase silica gel ODS and RP-18.The structures of the isolates were identified mainly by NMR spectroscopy and high resolution mass spectrometry.Up to now only some of isolated compounds and four phase crude extraction from the seeds of the field were screened for anti-influenza activity.Resultly only the petroleum ether was found to have a certain anti-influenza activity. The next step is to conduct the anti-influenza assay-duited isolation to obtain the active conpounds.
