Clinical Observation Of Acupuncture Combined With Carbamazepine In The Treatment Of Primary Trigeminal Neuralgia

Objective: under the guidance of the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine,acupuncture combined with carbamazepine was used to treat primary trigeminal neuralgia(stomach fire attack type),and this kind of patients were collected from the outpatient department of acupuncture and moxibustion department of Jilin Academy of traditional Chinese Medicine.The efficacy of acupuncture combined with carbamazepine in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia(stomach fire attack type)was compared,analyzed and summarized with the control group taking carbamazepine alone.To discuss the mechanism of acupuncture combined with carbamazepine in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia(stomach fire upward attack type),to observe the difference between the two groups after treatment,to observe the changes of the condition of each group before and after treatment,and to further clarify the efficacy and applicability of this therapy,which belongs to clinical study.The purpose of this study is to find a more economical,effective,simple and acceptable treatment method for patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia(stomach fire upward attack type),to determine the curative effect and to achieve the purpose of popularization and application.Methods: 72 patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group(n = 36)and control group(n = 36).The treatment group was treated with acupuncture combined with carbamazepine,and the control group was treated with oral carbamazepine.Both groups took 10 days as a course of treatment,and the curative effects were compared after 3 consecutive courses of treatment.Through the pain VAS score changes before and after treatment,primary trigeminal neuralgia symptoms graded quantitative integral,TCM syndrome graded quantitative integral changes,data statistics,analysis and processing,and finally draw a conclusion.Results: the VAS score of pain in the two groups decreased after treatment,and the VAS score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P < 0.05),and the VAS score in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P < 0.05).There was significant difference in the quantitative score of primary trigeminal neuralgia between the two groups before and after treatment(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment,and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).After treatment,the quantitative score of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group.The quantitative scores of TCM syndromes of primary trigeminal neuralgia(stomach fire upward attack type)were significantly different between the two groups before and after treatment(P < 0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).After treatment,the quantitative scores of TCM syndromes in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05).The above comparison shows that the two treatment methods are effective for primary trigeminal neuralgia(stomach fire attack type),and the curative effect of the treatment group is better than that of the control group.Conclusion: this clinical trial shows that acupuncture combined with carbamazepine is effective in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia(stomach fire attack type).It can significantly improve the degree of pain,relieve symptoms and reduce the impact of the disease on work and life.and the curative effect is more obvious than oral carbamazepine,has the characteristics of high safety and strong maneuverability,there are no adverse reactions in clinical observation,and have been well received by the patients.It has certain advantages and can be given priority.
