Objective :To analyze the clinical epidemiological characteristics of thyroid cancer and the diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasound, and to provide references for the prevention and diagnosis of the disease. Methods :Retrospective analysis of clinical data of 1703 patients undergoing thyroid surgery in Anhui Provincial Hospital's general surgery from July 2015 to February 2018,including gender, age, career, place of residence, and pathological type of thyroid cancer,to find out the clinical epidemiological characteristics of thyroid cancer. Then using the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve to evaluate the diagnostic value of thyroid color Doppler ultrasound TI-RADS classification in identifying thyroid cancer. Results :A total of 1703 patients undergoing thyroid surgery were included in this study,of which 987 patients had thyroid cancer confirmed by postoperative pathology and 716 patients had benign thyroid nodule.By analyzing the demographic and clinical data of the patients with thyroid cancer,it was found that 261 patients were males, accounting for 26.44%,and 726 patients were females, accounting for 73.56%.The average age of onset of thyroid cancer was(44.94 ± 12.13)years.The peak age of both male and female patients was between 41 and 50.68 out of the 987 patients were from the south of the Yangtze River, accounting for 6.89%,while the rest 919 patients were from the north of the Yangtze River, accounting for 93.11%.Also,out of the 987 patients,281 patients were manual laborers, accounting for 28.47%,392 patients were mental laborers, accounting for 39.72%,and another 314 patients were unknown, accounting for 31.81%.Moreover,regarding the pathological types of the 987 patients with thyroid cancer,963 of them were papillary carcinoma, accounting for 97.57%,6patients were follicular carcinoma, accounting for 0.61%,10 patients were medullary carcinoma, accounting for 1.01%,8 cases patients were undifferentiated carcinoma, accounting for 0.81%.The sensitivity rate and specificity rate of thyroid color Doppler ultrasound TI-RADS classification for the diagnosis of thyroid cancer diagnosis were94.22% and 68.58%.The area under the ROC curve(AUC)of thyroid color Doppler ultrasound TI-RADS classification in the diagnosis of thyroid cancer was 0.835(0.815-0.855),P<0.05.Conclusion :1.The average age of onset of thyroid cancer is 44.9 years. The peak age is between 41 and 50.The incidence rate of female is higher than that of male, and mental laborers are higher than manual laborers.so the women aged from 41-50 need to be targeted for prevention and treatment.2.The most common pathological type is papillary thyroid carcinoma.3.Thyroid color Doppler ultrasound has a high diagnostic value for thyroid cancer, and it is safe, convenient and repeatable, which can be widely used in clinical practice and improve the early diagnosis rate of thyroid cancer.
