| Objective: To explore the clinical effect of CT-guided iodine-125 seeds implantation in treating advanced stage and recurrent thymic carcinoma.Methods: Retrospective analysis of 21 cases of advanced stage(Masaoka stage IIIB-IV)and postoperative recurrent thymic carcinoma patients underwent CT-guided iodine-125 seeds implantation in Hospital from October 2009 to October 2018.The pathology of the patients enrolled was C-type,KPS≥70,refused or intolerable surgery 、radiotherapy and chemotherapy,and the estimated total survival time >3 months.Before the operation,the plan was selected by enhanced CT and the Treatment Planning System(TPS).The degree of implantation was 0.8m Ci,and the implantation therapy was successfully completed.The treatment response and efficacy were analyzed at 1 month,3 months,6months and 12 months after operation.The survival time and the quality of life,complications and adverse reactions after the treatment were also evaluated.Results:All the 21 patients were successfully completed the implantation of iodine-125 seeds.The follow-up rate was 1、3、6 and12 months.The local control rate was 42.9%、66.7%、76.2%、76.2%.The overall survival rates at 1、2、3 and 5 years were 90.5%、66.7% 、 47.6% and 33.3%.The pain relief rate was 77.8%,the relief rate of chest tightness and shortness of breath was 87.5%.The KPS score was higher than before with this treatment.No acute complications and other serious complications occurred during the treatment.Conclusion: With small trauma,less complications and exactly local control rate,CT-gui-ded iodine-125 radioactive seed implantation which can obviously improve the life quality of patients is a safe and effective treatment for advanced and recurrent thymic carcinoma;... |
