ObjectiveDifferent phenotypes of chronic prostatitis(CP/CPPS)in different characteristic groups were reported. At present, the treatment of chronic prostatitis is mainly based on the different phenotypes of different patients. Therefore,to find out the most critical symptoms affecting the quality of life and the lifestyle factors leading to symptoms is conducive to the development of targeted treatment measures. However, the most critical symptoms of chronic prostatitis affecting the quality of life and the lifestyle factors leading to the symptoms have not been reported in army soldiers. This study investigated and analyzed the most critical symptoms affecting the quality of life of soldiers with chronic prostatitis and the location of their occurrence, and found the influencing factors in their living habits,so as to provide a diagnosis and treatment basis for improving their quality of life and enhancing the combat effectiveness of the army.MethodsOn June 6,2018-December 2019,by random cluster sampling, the selection of chongqing,Tibet, sichuan, jilin, etc, different environmental characteristics of the area of army officers and soldiers at the grass-roots level, the questionnaire survey to use America's national institutes of health chronic prostatitis sypmtom score(NIH-CPSI)questionnaire and designed questionnaires about lifestyle factors,to understand the incidence of chronic prostatitis like symptoms, and the effect of using the general linear model(eta)and Spearman correlation analysis. The two statistical methods were used to analyze the correlation between pain,urination-related symptoms and their occurrence sites and quality of life, and to find the factors that had the greatest impact on the quality of life of army grass-roots officers and soldiers.Univariate analysis and logistic regression were used to analyze the correlation between different daily habits and NIH-CPSI scores to find out the lifestyle factors influencing symptoms.ResultsPart I: A total of 2,000 questionnaires were issued,of which 1,639 were valid, and 7.9% of the respondents had CP-like symptoms. The key symptoms and incidence rate were pain during urination 10.7%,pubic bladder area pain 10.6%,urinary frequency 10.6%,incomplete bladder emptying 10.1%,perineal pain 7.2%,etc.With CP-like symptoms,81% of the respondents were not satisfied with the symptoms or even felt uncomfortable.Urinary frequency and incomplete bladder emptying had the greatest impact on quality of life, followed by the frequency and intensity of pain. The location of pain had relatively little impact on quality of life, and there was no significant difference between different pain sites.Part II: A total of 1200 questionnaires were issued,of which 1012 were valid and 81(8.0%)soldiers had CP/ CPPS-like symptoms.Single factor analysis,Interrupting ejaculation, holding back the urine, spicy food, sedentary and lack of sleeping is the influencing factors of chronic prostatitis, single factor into the logistic regression model will be significant error control when it gets Interrupting ejaculation, holding back the urine,self-perception training intensity, spicy food, lack of sleeping is a risk factor for the army officers and soldiers.ConclusionChronic prostatitis seriously affects the quality of life of soldiers in the army. The functional symptoms associated with urination affect their quality of life more than pain, and the severity of pain affects their quality of life more than the location of pain.Pain location has little effect on quality of life and there is no significant difference between different pain location. These key symptoms serve as targets for the treatment of soldiers in the army, providing evidence for their diagnosis and treatment strategies to improve quality of life. The exact pathogenesis of CP/CPPS is still unclear. For male soldiers in the army, this study found that wrong ejaculation control, holding back the urine,self-perception training intensity, taste for spicy food, lack of sleep are risk factors for chronic protatitis which should be avoided.Grassroots medical institutions in the armed forces should strengthen health education and disease surveys,so that the soldiers can understand the disease, remove the psychological burden, change bad habits, reduce the number of non-combat personnel, and ensure the combat effectiveness of the troops.
