Clinical Effect Of The Rotational Support Plate For Posterolateral Tibial Plateau Fractures

Objective: To introduce the surgical technique of the rotational support plate treated for posterolateral tibial plateau fractures through anterolateral approach and analyze its therapeutic effect.Methods: From May 2016 to January 2019,17 patients with posterolateral tibial plateau fractures treated with the rotational support plate in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed.There were 12 males and 5 females.Aged 23-66 years,with an average of 43.5 years.9 cases of left side and 8 of right.AO-OTA classification: 2 cases of type 41-B1,3 of type 41-B2,10 of type 41-B3,2 of type 41-C3.Schatzker classification: 2 cases of type I,7 of type ?,3 of type ?,3 of type ?,2 of type ?.Postoperative rehabilitation was instructed,knee X-rays were followed up on time and fracture healing,complications,and knee movements were recorded.HSS knee score was used to evaluate knee function at the last follow-up.Results: All 17 patients successfully completed the operation,and all incisions achieved primary healing.All patients were followed up for at least 12 months.The last follow-up time was 12.2-40.2 months,(average,19.9 months).All fractures were healed and the fracture healing time was 3-4.4 months(average,3.2 months).At the last follow-up,the maximum knee flexion angle was 107.9 °-161.4 °,with an average of 142.7 °.knee function according to the HSS knee score was 64-100 points,with an average of 92.7 points,of which 15 were excellent,1 was good and 1 was fair.There were no complications such as loss of fracture reduction,fixation failure and traumatic arthritis occurred during the follow-up.Conclusions: The rotational support plate for the treatment of posterolateral tibial plateau fractures had simple operative procedures,less tissue damage,reliable fixation,and satisfactory knee function recovery after surgery.It is an innovative technique with significant clinical application values.
