| Background:In recent decades, foam sclerotherapy have become one of the important methods for the treatment of varicose veins in the lower limbs and have achieved significant clinical effects. However, pure foam sclerotherapy has the disadvantage of high trunk recurrence rate in the treatment of lower limb varicose veins. It is explored how to reduce the recurrence rate, increase the trunk closure rate, reduce the treatment cost, minimally invasive and beautiful based on the current treatment technology. Objective:To evaluate the treatment effect of the great saphenous vein(GSV)by ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy(UGFS)in association with percutaneous saphenous junction high ligation(PHL).Methods : The clinic data of 47 cases(50 limbs)with primary varicose veins due to GSV incompetence who were treated by UGFS in association with PHL from June 2017 to October 2017 were retrospectivelyreviewed.Collected the duration of operation, blood loss and cost.During1 year’s follow-up,the closure rate of GSV,the length of saphenous stumps,VCSS,CIVIQ and complications were recorded. Results:The duration of operation was 17.9±3.38 min,the amount of bleeding was 2.52±0.79 ml,and the cost was ¥4488.00±511.76.The primary GSV closure rate was 84%(42/50),and the second GSV closure rate was 94%(47/50)one year post-operative.The length of saphenous stumps was 2.83±0.46 cm.VCSS declined from 3.06±1.23 to 0.9±0.65(p<0.01)and CIVIQ improved from 83.13±7.49 to 95.57±4.00(p<0.05),which showed 100% effective rate. There were 21 limbs of thrombophlebitis,35 limbs of hyperpigmentation,3 limbs of saphenous junction pain,2 limbs of intermyovenous thrombosis, and no other severe complications. Conclusions : Applying PHL to UGFS of the saphenous stem enhanced the short-term occlusion rate. The procedure is simple, minimally invasive, cheap, effective, safe, and worthy of clinical promotion. |
