Investigation And Study On The Influencing Factors Of Erectile Dysfunction In Male Infertility Patients

Objective: To explore the erectile function and related factors of infertile patients in Fujian.Methods: A total of 136 male infertility patients from the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University were selected.The International Erectile Function Questionnaire 5(IIEF-5)was used to evaluate the erectile function of the patients,and the erectile function status questionnaire of male infertility patients was used.Results: A total of 136 patients met the inclusion criteria with an average age of 33.63 ± 5.27 years.92 patients(67.65 %)had no ED in infertile men and 44(32.35%)had ED,of which 38(27.94%)had mild ED,4(2.94%)had moderate ED,and 2(1.47 %)was severe ED.The average IIEF-5 score in the ED group was 23.42±1.21,and the average IIEF-5 score in the ED group was 18.67±2.24.There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).The average frequency of sexual intercourse in the ED group was 5.46±1.86 times/month.The average frequency of sexual intercourse in the non-ED group was 6.83±2.41 times/month,and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The patients' body mass index,smoking,infertility course,and ovulation sexual intercourse failure were related to the patients' erectile function(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that infertility and ovulation sexual intercourse failure were affecting erectile function in infertile men.Independent factors(P < 0.05).Among all infertile male patients,105(77.21%)patients were familiar with the ovulation period of the spouse,62 cases(59.04%)failed to have sexual intercourse during ovulation,and 31(22.79%)patients did not know the ovulation period of the spouse.There were 11 cases(35.48%)of failed ovulation sexual intercourse.Conclusion: Among the infertile couples in Fujian,the prevalence of ED in infertile men is 32.35%,and most of them are mild ED.Infertility and ovulation sexual intercourse failure are independent factors affecting erectile function in infertile men.Most infertile men are familiar with the spouse's ovulation period,but nearly 60% of patients have failed ovulation during sexual intercourse.
