Objective:To explore the therapeutic effects and the patient’s pain by using needle-free syringes and conventional subcutaneous injection of triamcinolone acetonide in treating keloids. Methods:A total of 50 cases of patients with keloids with obvious clinical symptoms treated in our hospital from 2018 to 2019.The included patients were randomly divided into two groups using the digital table method. The research group used a low-pressure needle-free syringe, the control group used a conventional 1 ml syringe with 26 G needle. Each patient received 4 injections at intervals of 1 week. The differences in scar size,Vancouver scar scale score, overall scar thickness, and injection pain score were compared between the two groups. Results:Repeated measures of variance analysis showed that all patients had significant improvement in scar’s length, width, and scar scale score after receiving 4 injections.Needle-free syringes are superior to needle syringes in improving the width and softness of scars(p<0.05).The pain score of the needle-free syringe group was higher at the first treatment. With the progress of treatment, the pain score decreased significantly in both groups, and was related to the improvement of scar softness. The pain score in the needlefree injection group decreased more obviously, and was lower than that in the control group at the last injection. Conclusion:When triamcinolone acetonide was used to treat scar, the non-needle injection group had obvious advantages over the needle injection group in reducing scar width and improving scar softness. There was no significant difference between the two methods in improving the overall thickness of scar and injection pain. But in the process of scar’s treatment, the degree of pain relief of needle-free syringe is better than that of conventional injection, and was related to the improvement of the scar softness.
