Research On The Effect Of Social Work On The Elderly Service In Medical And Nursing Institutions

With the rapid development of the population ageing,China's elderly population is large in absolute number,the aging of young children,unbalanced aging,and the number of elderly people who are old,sick,disabled,and mentally retarded has increased significantly,the demand of medical and health service and the demand of life care for the aged are superposed more and more obviously.The new service mode of combining medical care with old-age care provides a new way and a new exploration for solving the problem of medical care.As a professional service,social work intervention will be widely used in the elderly care services of medical and nursing institutions to meet the needs of the majority of the elderly,whether it is daily care or psychological,emotional,spiritual comfort,etc.,therefore,it is of great significance to study the effect of social work on the elderly care in the medical and nursing institutions.In this paper,we used the method of questionnaire and in-depth interview to investigate and interview the resident elderly,the manager and the social worker of the x medical care institution in Changchun,it was found that the elderly in medical and nursing institutions need social work service in the aspects of culture,entertainment,social communication,psychological counseling and social support.The intervention of social workers has greatly alleviated the anxiety caused by some newly-admitted elderly people who are not adapted to the life in institutions,made them integrate into the new environment more quickly,and improved their living conditions obviously,the enthusiasm of participating in activities has been enhanced,the willingness and ability of interpersonal communication has been enhanced,and the intervention of social work has been recognized and affirmed by the majority of the elderly.The discharge rate of the elderly is relatively low in the institutions where social workers are involved,and the investment in social work basically achieves the expected return.Social Workers in medical and nursing institutions have problems such as weak desire for self-improvement and high turnover rate.For social work involved in the development of services in medical and nursing institutions,there are also some difficulties,such as the lack of policy support,the difficulty of marketization of professional social work service,the lack of practical experience of social workers,and the singleness of service content.In view of these problems and difficulties,this paper further establishes and consummates thesocial work related policy,deepens the Medical Care Service Industry Personnel Training;To promote the diversification of service content and put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
