ObjectivesThe purpose of this study is to investigate the application value and clinical effect of 3D printing nasal bone reduction device in nasal bone reduction.MethodsFrom January 2016 to July 2016,17 patients of nasal bone fracture in our hospital were involved in this research.Preoperative and postoperative maxillofacial CT scan was performed.Before the surgery,the individual 3D printing device of each patient was prepared.According to the preoperative maxillofacial CT data,a 3D nasal bone reduction device was made Surgeon used the 3D printing nasal bone reduction device to restore the fracture during the operation.The preoperative and postoperative VAS score of nasal shape satisfaction as well as nasal ventilation was recorded and compared with each other.ResultsCompared the preoperative VAS score(6.353±1.607)of nasal shape satisfaction with the postoperative VAS score(1.529±1.036)correspondingly,all of the 17 patients were satisfied with their nasal shape(p<0.01).On the other hand,we compared the preoperative VAS score(2.912±2.315)of nasal ventilation with the postoperative VAS score(0.8824±0.3222),nasal ventilation function of all the involved patients was improved(P<0.01).ConclusionsNasal bone reduction by using 3D printing nasal bone reduction device is individual,simple and feasible.This new method can help the surgeons to perform the nasal bone reduction effectively and accurately.Patients are also economically acceptable.
