In school management,the differences of students' achievement and the factors that affect these differences have been concerned by education administrators,teachers,parents and students.Students' achievement can reflect whether students have mastered the knowledge or not and demonstrate students own study state.It is a test of students learning quality and serves as a great guide to students.Thus it is the realistic demand that analysis the factors that affect the students' achievement and Prediction students' achievement.To analyze the potential factors that affect students' achievement is reflected in a variety of researches at home and abroad.There are many researchers conduct some in-depth researches on the reason of students' different achievement,and formed a number of theories.Abroad,many of researchers establish analysis system to analyze the factors that affect students' achievement according to their own circumstances,and formed a series of digital analysis system,but it is relatively backward in domestic researches.There are many unreasonable researches in domestic researches,and the process of researches is not standardized,Students' achievement analysis is the initial stages in the country.Although there are many of researches use a varieties of methods analysis of the effects of students'achievement,but it is not yet a scientific and standardized systems,and the researches of students' achievement focus on the one hand.In this essay,In the context of the reform of college entrance examination in English,on the basis of the introducing of data mining of the present situation of both domestic and foreign education and analyze the students' achievement by data mining and the theoretical knowledge of education data mining technology.Comparing the advantages with the disadvantages of the decision tree algorithms,Use C5.0 decision tree algorithm is proposed to be an analysis method for high school students' English performance.Trying to find out the factors that influence the English achievement of the high school students.This essay has finished the following works:Through questionnaires and other way to get the factors that effect achievement of the high school students' English(including Basic information of students' and teachers'),Using information gain ratio as attribute selection metric,students English level use "good","general" and "lower" for training set of data.Establishing the classification model and optimize the model,and generating the classification rules,and obtaining the main factors affecting student achievement by detailed experimental verification.It provides a powerful data support for students to develop a learning plan and teachers to adjust teaching strategies,and using the model to predict students' achievement,at the same time provide the basis for university administrators to make scientific decisions.
