Zodiac,as the China's traditional folk culture,had witnessed thousands of years of cultural history and became one of the most lovely art in the world.It was an important part of folk art performance to express the good wishes of Qi Fu Na Xiang.Otherwise,in the traditional activities of ring out the Old year and ring in the New,as well as praying security and peace,Zodiac artistic imagein shown a unique cultural significance.Shiwan Zodiac pottery which have the artistic characteristics of pure and natural,uninhibited,vivid are classic works in Lingnan traditional culture.They have not only beautiful modellings,but also unique personality and strong local style.Nowadays,as the most important part in Shiwan pottery,Shiwan Zodiac pottery have been deeply loved by people.At the same time,with the development of society,Zodiac Shiwan pottery have innovated in shape,technique and glaze.In Shiwan,there are not only unique geographical conditions and the excellent craftsmen,but also centuried cultural deposits.Thus,there is a pretty high artistic value at the creation of pottery Shiwan Zodiac.This study discussed artistic characteristics of Shiwan Zodiac pottery from creative ideas,performance modeling,production techniques and the use of glaze materials.Accordingly,In order to innovating in the creation,the author analyzed a large number of zodiac pottery works.In the process of the creation,there was a good fusion between aesthetic awareness in the contemporary and Shiwan Zodiac pottery,so as to enriching the art form of Shiwan zodiac pottery.
