As a common speech act in daily life,refusal speech act are increasingly attracting scholars' attention.But in essence,it is a threat to the face of the threat of the face of the threat,and making people feel unpleasant,affecting the normal communication.Especially in cross-cultural communication,if not knowing clearly the speech acts of the target language,the smooth progress of communication will be directly affected,even failing to communicate or terminating the communication,hurting the feelings of both sides.Therefore,it is necessary to study the refusal speech acts of foreign students.A study on students' acquisition of Chinese refusal speech act,not only can make them aware of the Chinese refusal act,but also can provide teaching model,cultivate the pragmatic competence of language of those foreign students.In the process of communication with Chinese people,they are able to use the Chinese refusal speech act more freely and appropriately.Providing that there lacks the study of the Donggan students in Chinese refusals,under the support of relative theory,this study firstly defines the related concepts of Chinese refusal speech act,classify the speech act of refusal with the help of previous studies.Secondly,using the method of questionnaire survey of Northwest Normal University sophomore and junior Donggan students conducted a survey.Thirdly through the analysis of the results of the survey: the frequency of using direct refusal strategy is higher than China students,while the frequency of using indirect refusal strategy is lower that their counterparts.The higher the level of Chinese language,the more frequently the use of refusal strategies,which is similar to those Chinese students.Social power and social distance influence the refusal strategies adopted by foreign students.Last but not least,on the basis of the results of the analysis,the paper puts forward some suggestions on the teaching of foreign students and teaching materials.
