People are spending life in a wide variety of scenes,such as a bedroom,kitchen,office,mountain and river.Researchers could explore human’s visual system by exploring the visual process of scenes.Scenes were classified as natural scenes and the social scenes according to whether the scenes contain human.The main discovery of social scenes was semantic has an important role in the scene perception.In addition,the background was a key component of the scene.Given all that,the present work discussed the obtain of semantic connection based on background cues in the social scenes through two studies.Using moving window technique displayed semantic connection and non-semantic connection social scenes to investigate the role of semantic connection and the mechanism of semantic connection process in the social scenes.The results showed that the reaction time and eye movement data between semantic connection and non-semantic connection social scenes has a significant difference.This revealed that the semantic connection promotes scene perception owing to the semantic connection initiated top-down process.This will reduce the amount of information demanded,decrease the number of search time and shrink the integrated time.On the other hand,the time-course of semantic connection in the scene perception was characterized by a guided role runs throughout social scene perception which was started at 700ms(the third fixation).Second part of the study was considered the effect of semantic connection based on background cues in the social scenes.Researchers concluded that the background of scenes can be divided into scene background and object-to-object background.So the experiment2 used one shot paradigm and flicker paradigm separated the physical versus semantic process.And under the control of object-to-object conditions,the semantic connection social scenes of normal and split background were examined in the experiment2.While experiment3 manipulated object-to-object scene on condition of scenic background was not changed.Subjects freely viewed the connection scenes through a flash-preview-moving-window procedure.Type of object-to-object cues and the position of cues were the independent variables.The aim of experiment3 was investigated the effect of object-to-object background.The result shows that the scene background promotes scene perception and there has a different effect in the early stage of physical process versus later stage of semantic process.Moreover,the object-to-object background may be worked by a double mechanism of semantic and position process.It was similar time-course with scenic background.The present work aimed to discuss the obtain of semantic connection based on background cues.The results show that the semantic connection could promote the perception of social scenes and the background cues played an important role.This will boost the comprehension of machine-made of semantic connection and background cues in the social scene. |
