The name is the information that we first come into contact with others, and it has certain social functions, which will affect the development of individual psychology and behavior.Previous studies have focused on the effects of attractiveness on the recruitment process in the context of stereotype, that is,to examine the changes in individual decision making in different contexts by taking photographs of candidates. However, fewer studies have focused on the relationship between name stereotype(perceived attractiveness associated with a specific name)and individual decision making. The purpose of this study is to explore whether the individual can produce a name stereotype through a name information, and then affect the individual decision-making.Therefore,study one set up relevant decision-making situations, namely the selection of partners, inquiry the possible positive effects of the individual decision only by showing the candidate names. It can induce participants' perception of others' attractiveness by names, this is a prerequisite to influence individual decision-making to a certain extent. The results showed that people tend to choose the high attractiveness of names of individuals as partners. On the one hand,it is demonstrated the impact of name on the individual attractiveness, people who have a more attractive name also has more positive personality traits, therefore, people's desire to make friends and cooperate with them is more intense(Zhu Yi Xiao,2011).On the other hand,it is proved that people who have a low attractive name will be more aware of negative information, which has a negative impact on these individuals. That is,the lower the appeal of a candidate's name is,the less positive information the individual perceives. On the basis of the study one, study two set up a competitive situation, which can be used to test whether the individual decision making under this condition is influenced by the name stereotype caused by the name attractiveness. This study focused on the negative impact of individual name stereotype, the results show that the participants in this situation, are more inclined to choose the low attractiveness of names of the individual as a competitor. At the same time, previous research showed that the negative cognitive bias induced by stereotype may occur especially in thedecision maker and the applicant's gender consistent conditions(Agthe & Maner,2011).The results of this study are also verified. In general, the results of this study show that the negative evaluation of the name stereotype exists, which is reflected in the level of individual decision-making.When the individual is under the influence of name stereotype, the individual's cognitive evaluation and decision-making will be greatly affected. At the same time, this study also takes into account the influence of different decision situations on individual decision making, thus further explore the potential threat of name stereotypes, and help to rich in theoretical research, and help to reduce the impact of name stereotype on individual decision-making in the hiring process.
