The words denoting time in contemporary Chinese are an important part of Chinese vocabulary and means to express Chinese tense.Burma students in the process of learning Chinese time words Due to negative transfer of native language and over generalization of target language,easy to generate a large number of errors when they are learning the words denoting time in contemporary Chinese.Through the elementary and intermediate Chinese level the Chinese word denoting time use survey,teachers can know about the degree of mastering the words denoting time in contemporary Chinese and the stage that the Burma students have gotten,at the same time,the teacher also can know about how the learners acquire the words denoting time in contemporary Chinese.Based on the analysis of the errors of the words denoting time in contemporary Chinese and the causes of errors in the intermediate Chinese students in Burma,it is helpful to understand the learning strategies and steps of the learners in the learning process,and then adopt scientific teaching methods to help the learners effectively and accurately grasp and use the words denoting time in contemporary Chinese,reduce or avoid errors.Based on the author's teaching practice,use the word denoting time test paper of Burma students at the beginning and intermediate level as linguistic data.According to Mr.Lu Jianming's seven categories of time words as the classification standard of time words to investigate on the errors of the seven types of the words denoting time in contemporary Chinese,we found that Burma students are very liable to make mistakes with four types of word denoting time.The Burmese students Chinese word denoting time errors are classified into five kinds:errors in constituent missing,errors in addition,errors in coinage,wrong alternation and disorder.By comparing and analyzing the errors of two levels of Burma students in the use of the words denoting time in contemporary Chinese,analysis of reasons for errors,and bring up some teaching suggestions.I hope it will be helpful for the teaching of the words denoting time in contemporary Chinese.
