Teachers' feedback,an important part of teacher talk,refers to the teachers' verbal reaction when students answering questions,which can reflect the students' answering situation and their mastery of the language.Therefore,teachers' feedback is an important source of students' language input.While in high school English reading class,the effective teacher' feedback can improve the students' study enthusiasm,thus further improve the quality of reading class.Therefore,using the appropriate teachers' feedback in English reading class plays an important role in improving teaching quality and students' learning.Through the analysis of the present situation of teachers' feedback in English reading class,the thesis investigates the effective ways on feedback to promote teaching quality.The study is based on the emotional factors in SLA theory and interaction theory,the author selects two provincial key senior high school teachers as the research objects.This study adopts the way of class recording,which includes the types and usage amount of teachers' feedback in English reading classes.Students' responses to the questions are also recorded.On the basis of the questionnaires completed by 155 students,the author tries to learn their attitudes and preferences on teachers' feedback.After class,the author interviews 9 students about their understanding on teachers' feedback and their expectation towards teachers' feedback,and learns the influences of teachers' feedback to students' emotion.Studies have shown that,with the proceeding of curriculum reform and the updating of reading teaching model,English teachers have realized the significance of teachers' feedback.The diverse feedback styles increase students' comprehensible input and discourse output.For the variety of different feedback,students have different attitudes and preferences,and teachers' feedback have both positive and negative influences on students' self-confidence,anxiety,motivation,etc.Based on the study above,the author provides some implications.Teachers should fully realize the importance of teachers' feedback on promoting students' learning and improving the quality of classroom teaching;teachers should improve feedback styles constantly and use various kinds of feedback flexibly;teachers should pay attention to the use of comforting and encouraging feedback and guiding feedback;teachers should understand students' preferences and meet students' demands.
