The Research On Poems Of Meng Haoran Roaming Wu Yue

China is a land of poems,poetry composition started with the first poetry collection <The Book of Songs>,went through ages,rose and fell in the long history of Chinese literary development as vast as the open sea.Meng Haoran,as a civilian poet who had never been an official,spent the whole life on writing numerous pastoral poetry,and became a representative of pastoral genre.He fondly sang the praises of Mountains and rivers in Xiangyang with true love,and described rural scenery and local customs with his personal understanding.Thanks to not being an official,he had ample time to roam around.During his whole life,he roamed Wu Yue two times,left the posterity many beautiful poems which won universal praise.“Roaming” became popular in early and prosperous Tang dynasty among literati and officialdom,some roamed for accumulating networking to become an official,some for improving his own notability to obtain a chance to be recommended,some to look for a spiritual habitat for failed life,some for all three above.To my mind,Meng Haoran roamed Wu Yue for all three.The first time when Meng Haoran sought for an official position,He didn't get dominator's appreciation and reluctantly chose to roam in the amazing and beautiful mountains and rivers of Wu Yue.In the mean time,he visited all famous mountains to seek Buddha-realm,and met old friends,made new friends.His poems are full of his personal sentiments,which also reappears his psychological journey and embodies poet's unique personality.Roaming poems enriched artistic content of Meng Haoran's whole poem writing to certain extent,no need to emphasize its artistic contribution.As the representative of pastoral genre,his poems are known as “mild”.Scholars research on this are beyond count,many scholars research comprehensively on his trace of roaming,appreciate and analyze his famous poems,study on his ideological feature,and many more do his poems numerous comparative research.However,we can barely see researches with the perspective of “roaming”.This thesis tries to start with roaming poems in Wu Yue,go further to explore the trace and the reason of “roaming” in Wu Yue,and the personal sentiments,personality and his artistic contribution.By researching Meng Haoran's roaming poems in Wu Yue,we can better understand the “mild” feature of his poems,which has certain significance for comprehensively realize Meng Haoran's personality and poems.
