Wang Wei and Meng Haoran are the two most important poets 0f the pastoral school in the flourishing Tang Dynasty.There are a lot of geographical image in these poems.For political,cultural and other reasons,the geographical image of Wang Wei's poetry mainly distributes in the north,while that of Meng Haoran's poetry mainly distributes in the south.The geographical imagery of Wang Wei's poetry can be divided into landscape imagery,palace imagery,garden imagery,temple imagery,and blockade imagery.Wang Wei's landscape poems mainly describe the northern landscape and highlight the magnificence of the northern landscape.Wang Wei 'palace poems highlight the majesty and grandeur of the palace.Landscape images in Wang Wei's poems are divided into aristocratic gardens and gardens as luxurious and interesting as literati gardens,focusing on Wangchuan's other industries.Because Wang Wei loves and is proficient in Buddhism,his poetry is rich in temple imagery.His description of temple poetry is mostly related to Buddhism and Zen interest.Wang Wei guansai's poems depict the magnificent of Fengguang,a frontier fortress.The geographical images in Meng Haoran's poetry can be divided into landscape images,scenic spots images,Temple images and garden images.Meng Haoran's landscape poems mainly depict the southern landscape and the beautiful scenery in the south.Meng Haoran is deeply influenced by Taoism and Buddhism.He likes visiting temples very much.The image of temples is the medium for Meng Haoran to express his political frustration.Meng Haoran's poetry landscape images mainly describe literati garden,depicting the characteristics of literati gardens rich in natural beauty.Although Wang Wei and Meng Haoran belong to the same landscape pastoral school,their poems differ from each other in the perspective of cultural geography.First,there are differences in creative space.Wang Wei mainly focuses on the north,focusing on chang'an,wangchuan,Jizhou and the frontier fortress.Meng Haoran is mainly in the south,concentrated in xiangyang and the south of the YangzeRiver.Second,Chang'an,xiangyang culture had different effects on Wang Wei and Meng Haoran.Third,there are differences in their poetry creation because of their different thoughts and experiences.fourthly,they also have differences in space time construction.
