An Analysis Of The Writing Features In Humboldt's Gift

Saul Bellow is a famous contemporary American writer and also the first Jewish American writer to win the Nobel Prize for literature in 20th century.Bellow's writing feature is both realistic and modernistic.Now Saul Bellow's writing features and writing techniques have attracted the attention of scholars both at home and abroad.This thesis would take Bellow's novel Humboldt's Gift as an example to explore Bellow's unique writing feature and how this writing feature is embodied in the narrative skills and language skills in the novel.In terms of narrative skills,this thesis analyzes the person perspectives,the structure,the time and space,the literary styles in Humboldt's Gift with the theory of polyphonic novel.In terms of the language skills,this thesis focus on the comic style of language and several most important figures of speech in the novel.
