The Study On The Discourse Cohesion Of Commentaries In The Documentary "The Forbidden City"

This article focuses on the analysis and research of the discourse cohesion of the commentaries in the documentary “The Forbidden City”.Under the theoretical background of some functional linguistics and cognitive linguistics,we use the12 Settlement commentaries of the documentary " The Forbidden City" as the corpus.We analysis the Discourse Cohesion Mode of the Narration of the Commentary in the Documentary “The Forbidden City” from the Perspectives of Semantics,Logic and Pragmatics,and explain the use of those cohesion methods.In the end,this article attempts to innovate and inspire Chinese as a foreign language by “The Forbidden City” which is the representative of the history and humanities documentary.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part.It mainly discusses the previous research on related topics,and on this basis,it clarifies the thinking of this topic and defines the basic concepts.The second chapter examines the allegation of the documentary "The Forbidden City" according to the means of convergence.Due to the influence of linguistic economic principles and the characteristics of the commentary,we find that the semantic framing constituted by the "this" lineage is an important feature of the referential connection of the commentary in "The Forbidden City".The third chapter examines the logical connection of the commentaries of the documentary “The Forbidden City”.On the basis of the theory of Halliday who is a English scholar,we describe and analyze the logic connection of the commentary of " The Forbidden City ".We have found that in order to reduce the cognitive difficulty of the listener,the simple and clear temporal logic has a considerable weight in it.Meanwhile,the use of transition logic can often create unexpected surprises for the listener,so its use is also more frequent.The fourth chapter examines the means of pragmatic cohesion in the commentaries of the documentary " The Forbidden City ".This is an implicit connection method.Because of the special context of the commentary in “The Forbidden City”,the listeners always need to combine reasoning with documentary images and Chinese historical and cultural backgrounds.The last chapter attempts to make breakthroughs in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Combining the features and advantages of the documentary commentaries themselves,we can present richer teaching methods in the audio-visual-speaking course,cultural classes and reading course,and extend more diverse topics of learning so as to enhance Chinese students' interest in learning and improve the Chinese learners' learning confidence.
