Reading plays an important role in the English learning of senior high school.However,the lack of training in reading skills,strategies and thinking as well as the lack of stimulation in learning interest has resulted in their weak reading ability and the low classroom teaching efficiency.Based on the Cognitive load theory,Constructivism and Connectivism,this study combines the micro-lecture with the WeChat to explore a new and efficient teaching mode that assists traditional reading teaching in high school and improve students' reading ability as well as learning interest.After one semester's teaching experiment and with the SPSS(19.0)'s analysis of the experimental data,this study comes to a conclusion that the new teaching mode of using WeChat micro-lecture to assist high school reading teaching can effectively improve students' reading ability and comprehensive reading performance.By using WeChat to learn interesting micro-lecture or other learning materials,communicating with the teacher online and taking part in classroom group discussion and summary,students have improved their reading speed,thinking and mastery of reading skills.Questionnaires method and the interviews have also proved that the new teaching mode can effectively motivate students' learning interest.This WeChat micro-lecture not only enriches students' after-school life but also improves their learning efficiency and classroom performance.To some extent,this new teaching mode has innovative significance and practical value in high school reading teaching.
