Study On Cultural Of Mula Paintings At Wat Phumin Nan Province Thailand

Early Nan Province was ruled by Phuka dynasty,was an independent city state in the same time with Sukhothai,its capital was moved to Nan city in 1368.Wat Pumin built in 1595,was the royal temple of that period.Between 1867-1874,the ruler of Nan Chao Anantavorarithidej repaired the temple.A Dai Lue nationality painter named Nhan Buaphan paint the mural in later period.The painter used large space to record real situations for religion,history and cultural exchange of Nan city,which reflects the situation of multicultural integration in Nan city.This thesis includes six parts: Introduction,introduce the source of this thesis,the current study situations in home and abroad,the research purpose,and the research approach.Chapter One,temple mural in Thailand,introduce development and artistic characteristics in different periods of Thai painting and temple mural,development of temple mural in Lanna district was emphasized.Chapter Two,content of mural in Wat Phumin Nan province,introduce history of Nan province,Wat Phumin and the mural's four themes.Chapter Three,cultural information recorded in mural of Wat Phumin Nan province,analysis the Nan city's traditional cultural characteristics in the aspects of faith,material,culture and art.Chapter Four,the cultural function of mural Wat Phumin,the mural paintings record Nan city's social situation in the last half of the 19 th century.It shows the charming of Buddhist belief fusion with Ghost belief in Nan city,reflects the checkered history of Nan city,presents foreign culture's influences in native culture in different sides.Conclusion,summarizes the main points of thesis.This thesis gets fist hand information through investigation,uses the theory and approach of cultural studies to interpret the mural of Wat Phumin,research the situation of multicultural fusion in Nan city,then analysis cultural function of the mural painting.
