This interpreting practice is a Chinese-English consecutive interpretation practice. The chosen material of this report is the documentary “The Secrets of 3D Printer” of the “Truth” program of CCTV-10.In this report, through recalling the original conditions of the interpretation, the author analyzed the translation, and proposed corresponding interpreting strategies for actual problems in the interpretation. The content of this documentary is mainly divided into two sections, which are interviews and content edited by the column respectively. The main difficulties for interpreting lie in the latter, for this part involves a lot of academic background knowledge and terms. The textual coherence also needs to be improved.Besides, the author took the differences between hypotaxis and parataxis into consideration, knew well about the information focus in Chinese and highlighted them in English. In a word,to achieve the scientificity and accuracy of the interpretation, the solutions to the problems were put forward, such as order restructuring, alternation and omission which are used to deal with semantic repetitions, the emphasis of the information focus and the applications of conjunctions and related words which help to enhance the textual coherence. After this practice, the author concluded that in face of such a scientific documentary, interpreters should firstly do comprehensive preparation for the interpretation to fully understand the logic and principle involved.Secondly,an interpreter should be fully aware of the differences of expression between English and Chinese.Lastly, one should be proficient in using proper interpreting skills to convey the meaning to the target audiences.
