A Probe Into The Construction Of English Smart Class In Junior High Schools Based On Connectivism Theory

The Notice of the Ministry of Education on the Key Points of Education Informationization in 2016 clearly pointed out that education need to adhere to the principle of "serving the overall situation,integrating innovation,deepening application and perfecting mechanism",and comprehensively perfect the construction and application of the "three links and two platforms",with a focus on promoting the "network learning space for all connections".Faced with such a large background,the smart class has developed and then the construction of the smart class is the needs of the times.Some scholars have proposed new learning in the new era of online environment needs a new theory to guide,because the traditional learning theories can not be adaptive.The Connectivism just fits with the learning environment under such big data.Some scholars combine the analysis of Connectivism with micro-class,Mooc and so on.The author finds that the Connectivism can also guide the construction of the smart class as well,so the author decided to have a further research on English smart class in junior highSchools.Based on the studies of Connectivism and smart class.The author ulteriorly explores how Connectivism conducts the construction of the English smart class in one junior high school.In order to study the current situation of the smart class,the author chooses the 20 English teachers in a junior high schools' classes which are equipped with smart class of one school in Chongqing City.Through the classification of Connectivism theory,the author makes a questionnaire based on the five dimensions of Connectivism(resource diversity,connectivity,intellectualization,instantaneity and continuity)of combination of Connectivism and smart class.The survey finds that most of the teachers have recognized the benefits of the smart class and through the smart of the class platform teachers can transmit various learning materials to students,answer questions for students and establish close contact with students.To some extents,it promotes the interaction and communication between teachers and students.With the help of emerging smart class,some teachers also carefully teach students how to learn and givestudents lifelong learning methods.However,there are still some problems of teaching and the mode of construction of English class for junior high school is not completely perfect.This study adopts the ways of questionnaire,interview and case analysis.This paper selects three typical teaching cases in teaching process to analyze their drawbacks and advantages and then point out some sugguestions based on the smart class and Connectivism.They are three respectively different classes,listening and speaking,reading and grammar classes.The first is a listening and speaking class,which is related to the food topic.The teaching objectives are mainly through the scene,students are able to use “would you like something” sentence structure and some associative vocabulary in the daily life;the second case is mainly about the description of the origin of the United States' thanksgiving and the making procedures of Thanksgiving traditional food--turkey,which is in order to help students learn more about foreign cultural knowledge.The third one is grammar class that is about the future tense “be going to do”.Through careful analysis of these lessons,questionnaire and interview,the author understands the current situation of the implementation of the smart class,the excellence of teachers' teaching design and the problems that should be amended.From those problems,the author puts forward the construction mode and some corresponding suggestions to better construct junior high school English smart class.
