A Report On The Proofreading Project Of “Proper Translation Of Public Signs In Guangxi Under The 2017 Yearly Plan Of Foreign Experts' Settle-down In Guangxi” From The Perspective Of Theory Of Text Typology

With the development of reform and opening up,and the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative,more and more foreigners come to China.The translation of public signs plays an important role in providing convenience for foreigners and helping them to adapt to China as soon as possible.This thesis is a report which is based on the Proofreading Project of ?Proper Translation of Public Signs in Guangxi Under the 2017 Yearly Plan of Foreign Experts' Settle-down in Guangxi?.The author analyzes the translation of public signs from the perspective of text typology theory,summarizes the characteristics of public signs and its translation principles.This report provides some practical references for the translation of public signs.At the same time,the problems encountered are summarized and corresponding strategies are explored to solve these problems.The report consists of five parts: the first part introduces the background and significance of the research;the second part describes the proofreading project,including the background,requirements and process of the project;the third part summarizes Peter Newmark's theory of text typology;the fourth part is case analysis,which summarizes main problems existing in the project,and analyzes them profoundly with the guidance of the theory of text typology,then puts forward corresponding strategies to solve them;the fifth part is the conclusion,including a summary of the practice project and the author's reflection.
