The Application Of Phonics To English Vocabulary Teaching In Primary Schools

The English learning in Primary School is enlightening stage of English learning and one of the main tasks of cultivating students' interest.When pupils first came into phonetics and vocabulary learning at the time,they felt boring of it.Explore the effective ways of vocabulary learning is the most importance.The phonics help students with correct pronunciation and efficiency in memorizing English words.it will give students a great base in a new language.After teaching practice and investigation,here are a few questions about the application of phonics to English vocabulary teaching in Primary Schools.(1)Whether the Phonics can improve pupils' spelling ability?(2)Whether the Phonics can make for great interest of English vocabulary learning?(3)Whether the Phonics can improve grade of vocabulary test?In this paper,by way of the empirical method,it is argued,first,understanding how much Phonics are vital to English vocabulary learning and comparing with Phonics and the international phonetic symbols.Secondly,through the pre-test,post-test,questionnaire and interviewing,comparing with different methods of Phonics and the international phonetic symbols.And English teachers should demonstrate how to teach Phonics rules to allow students to master the vocabulary learning.Finally,we could be proved by experiment that the Phonics has important implications for vocabulary learning.So author selects two classes in Yanxin primary school grade four as experimental group and control group for a semester,a total 40 people.Following is the result;1.The Phonics helps pupils' to improve spelling ability.2.The Phonics helps pupils' to improve interest and confidence of vocabulary learning.3.The Phonics helps pupils' to improve the result of the Vocabulary quiz will help reduce theburden on students.
