As a universal religion,Christianity has an important position in the history of human ethics.The art of the early Christian catacombs had a more complete expression of its view of life and death.The study on the concept of Christian life and death and its artistic dissemination contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of the Christian ethics and its enlightenment paths and means.It helps to further understand the connotation and application of Christian doctrine and helps to explore the inner motivation and laws of the development of Christian art.It also helps to compare the intrinsic vitality of Chinese and Western cultures.Taking the St.Callistus Catacomb as a case,this paper discusses how the Christian view of life-death influenced the art of the Christian catacombs and how the art of the catacombs expressed the Christian view of life-death to believers.Then base on the Bible's canon text after the St.Callistus Catacomb,this article also trying to outline a Christian view of life and death that has not been fully expressed,including the view of life,the view of death,the view of resurrection,the view of human life,and the view of eternal life.
