The National Identity Of Jackie Chens' Movie

Hong Kong is one of the important port cities in south China.Because of geography and some other reason,Hong Kong had became one of the most important economic centers of China.However,at the beginning of last century,as we lost in the war,Hong Kong had been ceded to the United Kingdom and had been governed by the British colonial government for as long as 99 years.In 1997,Hong Kong officially been returned back to China.For the reason of this experience in history,the feature of national identity of Hong Kong is quite unique.As an important form of culture diffusion,movie is very significant in Hong Kong.And in all the genres of movie in Hong Kong,the most representative one is the action movie.From the 60 s of last century till now,Hong Kong action movie has already passed more than 50 years.Different generations took turns and great changes had been taken place in the style and the thought.For example,originally the style of Hong Kong action movie was mainly kungfu movie,but after 80 s,it had changed into the police and gangster movie.When we look back through the long history of Hong Kong movie,we will find out that there are many people who had accomplished great success and made a great impact in Hong Kong,the mainland and even the whole world.Jackie Chen is one of them.In view of the important role of Hong Kong action movie,it has a great value of studying the history of Hong Kong based on the social environment and the social thought it has expressed.In this paper,we are going to mainly analysis 9 movies of Jackie Chen and discuss the feature of the national identity in different periods and the reason.More importantly,by means of analysis the action movies of Jackie Chen,we can draw a conclusion of Hong Kong movie and the social point of view of Hong Kong about the national identity in the past 100 years.This paper will have 3 chapters based on the chronological order to analysis the feature of national identity which had been presented from the movies.And the conclusion of this paper will discuss the nationalidentity of Hong Kong movie via the action movie of Jackie Chen.This paper will provide the reference of the history study of Hong Kong movie.
