With the arrival of the information age,students' learning power has become the core competitiveness in the process of their development.Skills and ability of individuals which are acquired in schools are not enough to cope with the future work.To realize the sustainable development in the future,we have to accumulate the power of learning motivation,learning persistence,learning cognitive power,learning strategies,and application ability to the internal energy.Thus we can keep learning throughout life to adapt to the changing society.Due to the longstanding neglect of "how to learn" the development of the theory of learning power is still in its infancy,and there are few studies on the subject learning power.At the same time,in the real world,English learners are less interested in learning,poor in perseverance,poor in application ability and so on.The lagging of theories and reality need show that the study of English learning power is necessary and meaningful.The main task of this study is to compile the questionnaire for English learning power of junior middle school students,which can provide effective measurement tools for the study of English learning power and help teachers and students know students' learning power more deeply and comprehensively.The process of this study includes combing literature,establishing the theoretical foundation,compiling the preliminary questionnaire,testing,analysis and exploratory factor analysis on the preliminary survey questionnaire items,confirmatory factor analysis of the revised questionnaire,reliability and validity analysis of the revised questionnaire.The main conclusions of this study are:First,the English learning power of junior middle school students is the power to learn English subject effectively in schools,as well as the potential power to influence their future learning.There should be at least three aspects of English learning power of junior middle school students:first,at the emotional layer,it includes the desire for English learning,emotional experience and reaction;second,at the cognitive layer,it includes the cognitive and regulation mechanism of knowledge learning and skills development;third,at the application layer,it includes creative application ability.Second,The English learning power of junior middle school students has a multi-dimensional structure,including English learning motivation,English learning method,self-monitoring ability in English learning,creativity in English learning.The whole scale has 30 items,in which English learning motivation consists of six items,English learning method consists of nine items,self-monitoring in English learning consists of nine items,creativity in English learning consists of six projects.Third,the questionnaire has a good reliability and validity.Cronbach' s alpha of the total scale is 0.9349,and Cronbach's alphas of the four factors vary from 0.8118 to 0.8711.The test-retest reliability is 0.932.The correlation between the scale and criterion is 0.629(p<0.05).
