| The Outline of Basic Curriculum Reform puts forward the goal of curriculum reform: 1)changing the tendency that curriculum pays too much attention to knowledge imparting;2)emphasizing the formation of active learning attitude;and 3)making the process of acquisition of basic knowledge and skills become one of learning to learn and forming correct values".This goal makes self-regulated learning more important.This study explored 760 junior high school students’ self-regulated learning strategies,taking Self-regulated Learning Theory as its theoretical basis and using mixed research method.The research questions included: 1)What are the levels of junior high school students’ use of English self-regulated learning strategies? 2)What are the factors that influence junior high school students’ use of English self-regulated learning strategies? 3)Does the use of self-regulated learning strategies predict junior high school students’ English achievements?The research results showed that: 1)junior high school students’ use of self-regulated learning strategies in their English learning was at a low level;2)self-efficacy,achievement goal orientation,and perceived teacher support significantly predicted junior high school students’ use of self-regulation strategies in their English learning,while perceived peer support had no predictive effect on the use of self-regulation strategies.3)The use of self-regulated learning strategies by junior high school students significantly and positively predicted their English achievements.The findings are discussed and suggestions on how to improve junior high school students’ use of self-regulation strategies in their English learning are rendered. |
