<Sonata-Reminiscenza Op.38 No.1> Play Interpretation

Medtner has always been one of Russia’s most influential composers,occupying a special place in the history of Russia and world music culture.The development of music in the 20 th century was inseparable from his creation and his contribution to music.Although the structure of “Reminiscenza ”op.38 no.1 is a single movement sonata,the theme in the work is very comprehensive.After careful consideration,the composer used polyphonic writing techniques,decorative sounds,and unique methods to make the work richer than ordinary large works.The review of“Reminiscenza ”op.38 no.1is divided into three parts.The first part introduces Medtner’s life and piano works.Through a brief study of the eight songs in the set of “Forgotten Melody”,a preliminary understanding of the style and creative characteristics of Medtner’s musical works is obtained.The second part introduces the musical structure and musical characteristics of the “ Reminiscenza ” op.38 no.1,which provides a deeper understanding of Medtner’s first work.The third part gives an interpretation of“Reminiscenza ”op.38 no.1.In accordance with the musical structure,the author combines the technical difficulties that arise in the performance and subdivides the interpretation.
