In the middle and late 19th century,under the influence of the European and American women's movement,many regions imitated and fought for the emancipation of women.Under the impact of the wave,Australia,one of the first country,which granting women's suffrage in a social reform launched by the male and female in the society,the broad masses of women putting forward their own legitimate rights and interests,such as politics,economy,education,social.In this paper,the feminist movement of Australia was systematically investigated in the middle and late 19th century.The article is divided into three parts.The specific contents are as follows:The first part discusses the rise of feminism in Australia in the mid-19th century.This article respectively investigates Australia group of women's social status in the mid-nineteenth century,from the literature and the press public opinion to analyze the social view of women that the Europe and United States discussing the feminist movement's influence.The second part discusses the process of feminism of Australia in the middle and late 19th century.In mid and late 19th century,women's rights activists around the politics,economy,education and family,using methods such as social organization,petition,published an article,strive for white women the right to vote and the right to education,improve the working environment and family status,and the improvement of social moral consciousness.The third part discusses the characteristics and effect of feminism movement of Australia in the middle and late 19th century.In the 19th century,Australia transplanted European and American culture and reflected its unique characteristics.The article summarizes the five characteristics of the feminist movement in Australia in the middle and late 19th century:the press and public opinion as the main means of publicity;To promote the organization of women's thought as the main activity unit;To be led by the elite of education;Taking women's political rights as the main means;Focus on economically developed areas.According to the article,the feminist movement in Australia has raised the political consciousness of Australian women,improved the working environment and the female education system.However,the impact of the feminist movement is not deep,Australian society is still dominated by white men,women get the vote is not directly into the parliament,corresponding political power was not awarded to the aboriginal women.
