Social anxiety causes damage to college students' physical and mental health,but also brings many troubles to their normal social life and interpersonal.Recently,many studies have investigated that family function could influence individual's social anxiety.However,at present,there are rare studies referred to effect mechanism of family function on individual's social anxiety.The present study chose college students as subjects,planed from the emotion regulation view to explore the effect of family function on college students' social anxiety.The study one chose college students(n=712,aged18-24)as subjects,used the Family Assessment Device,Interaction Anxiousness scale and Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Check List,measured the relationship of college student's family function and social anxiety.The result found that there was a significant positive correlation between the problem solving,communication,role,emotional response,emotional involvement,behavioral control and overall functional dimension of college students' family function' scores and the scores of social anxiety.After controlling the demographic variables and life event variables about college students,it was found that the various dimensions of the family function of college students had a significant predictive effect on social anxiety.The study two also chose college students(n=730,aged18-24)as subjects,adopted the Family Assessment Device,Interaction Anxiousness scale and Emotion Regulation Questionnaire explored the relation of college student's family function,social anxiety and emotional adjustment strategy.The result showed that there was a significantly negative correlation between social anxiety scores and cognitive reappraisal strategy using frequency,a significantly positive correlation between social anxiety scores and expressive suppression strategy using frequency.In addition,the cognitive reappraisal strategy of emotional adjustment strategy played a mediation role in college student's family function of the problem solving,roles,affective responsiveness,affective involvement,behavior control score and social anxiety,and the expressive suppression played a mediation role between social anxiety andaffective responsiveness,general functioning of the college student's family function.The results investigated that college students' family function had significantly predictive effect on social anxiety.Meanwhile,we found the use frequency of emotion regulation strategy played an mediation role between college stude nts' family function and social anxiety.
