Anxiety is a kind of negative emotion which we often experience. There are two types of anxiety, trait anxiety and state anxiety, the former refers to a temporary state, the latter refers to a stable tendency of anxiety on personality. Anxiety has important influence on individual learning, life and social interaction. Excessive anxiety can cause sleep disorders, test anxiety, social phobia, and so on, and affect the physical and mental development of high school students.However, these studies did not compare the differences on emotion regulation effect between cognitive reappraisal, expression suppression, accept and self compassion.These studies did not take the individual characteristics and state anxiety level into account which might affect the effect of the regulation of emotion regulation strategies. Whitch causing when Faced with different anxiety trait or different state anxiety level, we do not know which kind of strategies we should take.Therefore, my study used 4 × 2 × 2 three factors factorial experiment design, to explore the applicability of these four kinds of emotion regulation strategies under different state anxiety and trait anxiety level.There were a total of 92 subjects, including 45 boys and 47 girls.The following conclusions:1.On the low intensity of anxiety, the effect of all the emotion regulation strategy is bad, because of the the low level itself.2.On high intensity of anxiety, self-pity,cognitive reappraisal and expression suppression can effectively reduce the anxiety of the individual, the effect of acceptance is bad.3.For the subjects of high trait anxiety, the regulation effect of cognitive reappraisal,acceptance and expression suppression is better than self-pity.4.Cognitive reappraisal and acceptance has better effect on the subjects of high trait anxiety than the ones of low trait.
