The research of the stereotype content model has drawn much attention in the field of social psychology. The stereotype content model is based on dimensionality perspective theory.Through a two-dimensional evaluation structure of warmth and competence,a holistic and rational two-dimensional theoretical framework has been established and formed four major groups, target groups placed in the social structure predict and interpret the characteristics of the groups stereotype.Based on the review of domestic and foreign research trends and analysis of the limitations of existing research,it is found that there are few researches on how children develop and apply stereotype content models in the past.At present,it is unclear whether children will independently apply the same two dimensions as adults to make social judgments and whether there will be stereotype content effects in the process of judgment. Therefore, starting from the research of stereotype content model of adult sample, this study mainly explores whether children have stereotype content effects in social judgment and whether their judging model is the same as that of adults. It is the first study to examine children's use of dimensions to judge a range of social groups.Preliminary study tests children's group impression of the target group. The results showed that after the second attempt, children were more than 90% familiar with the target group.Study 1 is the direct comparison of the warmth and competence of adult and children samples,to make "more nicer" and "more smarter" judgments on the selected eight target groups and test whether children can place target groups in the virtual quadrant of the stereotype content model as adults in the social judgment.Study 2 is a scenario simulation experiment designed for two dimensions of warmth and competence based on the study 1,to test whether stereotype content effect occurs when children apply stereotype content models to judge social groups, whether children will independently apply the same two dimensions as adults to make social judgments. The results showed that in the warmth dimension, there were significant differences in the social judgment of the eight target groups in each age group. In the competence dimension, there were significant differences in the social judgment of the eight target groups in each age group. The 6-year-old children are significantly different in both dimensions of warmth and competence, and showed sensitivity tocompetence dimension. The 10-year-old children and adults had no significant differences in the two dimensions of warmth and competence. The 6-year-old,10-year-old and adult are not related to the dimension of warmth and competence. The results of the study showed that 6-year-old children had a stereotype effect in the process of judging social group, and 10-year-old children and adults did not have stereotype content effect in the process of judging social group.Children cannot place target groups in four virtual quadrants of the stereotype content model as adults in the social judgment.Children will independently use two dimensions of warmth and competence.
