Cultural teaching occupies a very important position in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.Language teaching and cultural teaching are complementary and inseparable.As the teaching basis used in cultural education—the construction of the cultural textbooks for teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages is very important.This article selects two cultural textbooks to conduct research projects.They are Wang Shunhong's China Profile of Peking University and Profile of Contemporary China compiled by Bao Wenying and Liu Hong.This topic will classify the cultural contents of the two cultural textbooks into scientific categories and analyze the proportion and layout of various cultural contents in the two textbooks.It concludes that the layout of the cultural projects of the China Profile of the Peking University Edition is clear,comprehensive and detailed,but the proportion of the ancient and modern cultural content is out of balance,the proportion of ancient culture is too high,part of the cultural content is lengthy and lacks interest,and some cultural content choices are not practical.The culture content selected in Profile of Contemporary China is novel and interesting.It focuses on introducing the contemporary development and changes of cultural content.However,it lacks integrity and systematization in the introduction of cultural projects.At the same time,this article surveys the attitudes of 73 Chinese students in the cultural content of cultural textbooks,and confirms the analysis results of the two textbooks with the needs of Chinese learners.It can be concluded that there is a certain distance from the expectations of the students in the content selection and arrangement of the current Chinese cultural materials,especially in the selection of cultural contents,the contradiction of supply and demand is relatively sudden,and in the form of teaching materials,it should be more abundant and diverse.In the end,based on the above analysis results,the author puts forward several suggestions for the selection and layout of cultural textbooks: pay attention to the synchronic of cultural content selection,pay attention to the values and behavior patterns behind the cultural phenomenon,and pay attention to the selection and use of mass culture and mass cultural products.At the same time,according to the relevant conclusions of the subject,a lesson plan is designed to show the application of the research in the practice teaching in the course of Profile of Contemporary China.
