With the advancement of economic globalization,more and more foreign language information needs to be obtained through reading.The traditional reading mode cannot meet the learners' needs for reading efficiency.English reading strategy training has become one of the ways to improve reading efficiency.There is rare theoretical basis for the study of reading strategies in China.Most of the researches on English reading strategies are based on foreign theories and have not formed their own theoretical system.The research on reading strategies is still in the period of reference.Secondly,the subjects of domestic research are mostly concentrated on English and non-English majors in universities,while few of them are concentrated on primary or middle school students.Therefore,although some progresses have been made in the field of English reading strategies in the past ten years,there is still much space in both breadth and depth of this research.In these circumstances,senior high school English reading will be chosen as the research orientation and try to figure out whether reading strategy training can help senior high school students establish their sense of strategy and research the effect of reading strategy training on students' English reading efficiency,which simultaneously aim at developing their ability of autonomous learning.First of all,by using questionnaires and interviews knew the circumstances of using reading strategies,and by using reading comprehension tests knew the circumstances of students' ability of reading comprehension.Secondly,according to their lack of strategy consciousness,the students was trained to use all kinds of reading strategies.Finally,discussed the effect of English reading strategy training so as to provide some suggestions for English reading instruction in senior high school.The training processes of reading strategy in this thesis were designed by using pre-test and post-test,and 60 senior high school students were selected as the research objects.The students were investigated by questionnaire,interview and pre-test.Finally,English reading comprehension test was used to measure the subjects' English reading scores.The pre-test and post-test data was tested and statistically analyzed by SPSS software,and the results of the English reading strategy training were supplemented by questionnaires and random interviews.The main conclusions of this thesis are as follows:in the reading process,most ofstudents don't have strategy consciousness,and they rarely use English reading strategy when do reading comprehension;English reading strategies have an important influence on students' ability of English reading.The English reading strategy training helps to train students' awareness of using strategy and improve reading efficiency and reading ability of the students.Therefore,the effect of reading strategy training is significant.In the future,it is necessary for teachers to pay attention to the cultivation of students' strategy consciousness and ability of using all kinds of reading strategies.
