| In 1957,Liang Bin’s novel "Keep the Red Flag Flying" was published and received many rave reviews.The novel was praised by scholars as "an epoch-making work in the history of Chinese literature" and "the first epic of describing the peasant revolutionary struggle".Guo Moruo even gave the book the highest rating of "hold high the Red Flag and sky is red,break fresh ground and universe is new".Keep the Red Flag Flying takes the class hatred of three generations of Zhu and Yan families between two generations of landlord Feng Lanchi family as a clue,by depicting a series of struggles,such as Zhu Laogong’s uproar in the willow bush,Zhu Laozhong’s return of homeland,the Dried Redbird Incident,the Anti Slaughter Tax struggle and Baoding Second Normal School students’ movement,trying to show Zhu Laozhong’s course from "family revenge" to "class struggle".Half a century within the publication of Keep the Red Flag Flying,it was successively adapted into films and TV shows of the same name.This article mainly takes Keep the Red Flag Flying novel and the adaptations of film and TV drama as research objects.First,restore the historical context,so that Keep the Red Flag Flying returns to the specific historical space,fully presents the relationship of "text" with the literary system,writer writing and historical background.Second,based on different artistic thinking and aesthetic rules corresponding to different artistic mediums of novels,films and TV dramas,this article analyzes the differences of different texts of Keep the Red Flag Flying.Third,probes into the value demands reflected in the adaptations of film and TV drama,as well as the historical concepts and aesthetic tastes reflected in the adaptations.This article will start from the difference of the themes,the characters,the narration,the rhetoric and the symbols between the texts of novel,movie and TV drama of Keep the Red Flag Flying,conduct an overall study and in-depth analysis of the intrinsic relations among the three texts.The first chapter,in-depth study the core idea of each text,that is,the theme ofthe work,from the stitching of class discourse and daily emotion in the text of the novel,to serious class discourse expression in the text of the movie,to the enlargement of the legendary folk culture in the TV drama,Keep the Red Flag Flying embodies rich connotation and reason behind the theme change.First,literature and film and TV drama are two different forms of art.Second,different texts of Keep the Red Flag Flying have specific historical contexts in the processes of creation.These are the factors that influence the presentation of the theme.The second chapter,analysis of the well-rounded and typical portrayals of characters,this chapter classifies many characters into four groups,namely peasant group,landowner group,intellectual group and new intermediate group of the TV drama.Each group has commonness and individuality,analyzes personality in commonness and reflects commonness in individuality,this is the discussion train of thought adopted in this chapter.From the novel text to the movie and TV drama texts,the positive figures gradually become vivid and substantial,while the negative characters gradually become formulaic.Among them,there are reasons of different artistic forms of presentation,as well as that of historical context and audience aesthetic changes.Chapter 3,narrative is the essential feature of novel,story film and TV narratives(especially TV drama),but the choice of narrative strategies differs from one art form to another.This chapter starts with three aspects of narrative plot,narrative rhythm and narrative space-time.We will find that the different artistic methods affect the choice of narrative strategies in different artistic forms.The fourth chapter,literary rhetoric,symbols and video rhetoric,symbols have a certain degree of interoperability.This chapter will study the text rhetoric and symbols of novels and movie texts,seeks to find out the role of rhetoric and symbols in the realization of the textual art connotation as well as the features of rhetoric and symbols represented in different texts. |
