Siegfried Odermatt & Rosmarie Tissi—’Harmony In Diversity’ International Swiss Style

Siegfried Odermatt & Rosmarie Tissi have made significant contributions to the establishment and development of International Swiss Style.They are considered to be the representatives of Swiss internationalism.Through the study of early and late works of Odermatt and Tissi,this paper analyzes the root of the design concept,explores the breakthrough of design ideas,finds the commonness and characteristics of the design style of the International Swiss Style,and contrasts the views of "harmony but different" in the article.Their design style is based on Bauhaus and International Swiss Style,and there are many similarities in the design concept.By the late 80 s,the design of "O&T" jumped out of the harsh and stereotyped International Swiss Style,bringing a modern and vibrant temperament.Through the research of the “O&T” studio,a deeper understanding of the Swiss internationalist style and the path of thinking behind the design can be used as a reference for deepening the understanding of the design.In improving design value and competitiveness,the success of their design practice is of reference,inspiration and guidance for us to develop design ability.
