Although the lead-in activities account for only a few minutes as the beginning part of the whole English class,they are of great value to the whole English classroom teaching process.Effective lead-in activities can arouse students' interest,activate students' original knowledge,and establish the connection between students' prior knowledge and new knowledge as well as make students accept new knowledge actively,which improves classroom teaching efficiency.This thesis chooses the course videos of thirty English teachers who participated in the Tenth National Senior High School English Teaching Demonstration Classes in Chongqing in 2016 as the research subject,and adopts the classroom observation,the script analysis,and the interview as the main research methods.The study transfers the lead-in parts to texts,and make statistical analysis.Combined with the interview of two teachers,the author summarizes the characteristics of High-quality English Classes in Senior High School,so as to provide some reference significance for the lead-in part of normal classes and improve the English teaching quality of senior high school.Based on the three dimensions of teaching design,teaching implementation and teaching effect,this thesis mainly has three research questions:1.How many lead-in methods are there in high-quality English classes of senior high school? 2.How do the features of teacher talk embody in lead-in activities of high-quality English classes of senior high school? 3.What is the class performance of the senior high school students in lead-in activities of high-quality English classes?The main findings of the study are as follows: The lead-in methods of high-quality English classes of senior high school are flexible and diverse,and teachers choose appropriate and reasonable lead-in activities according to the factors such as teaching contents and students' specific conditions;the teachers have high level of language competence in lead-in activities of high-quality English classes ofsenior high school;the effective development of lead-in activities has created a harmonious classroom atmosphere.The students' enthusiasm for learning is rising and students actively participate in the classroom activities.According to the results of the study,the thesis proposes the suggestions for optimizing the lead-in activities of the normal classes: The teachers should strengthen the importance of lead-in part;the teachers should select the targeted lead-in methods;the teachers should strengthen their classroom language competence;the teachers should enhance the professional theoretical knowledge.
