Suzhou Opera which has a long history of more than three hundred years is a local opera in Suzhou.Its euphemistic melody and elegant vocal music enjoy great prestige in Chinese opera.Also it is known as one of the "three flowers on the Suzhou Art Scene",It combines the beauty of performance of Kunqu,language of Pingtan and the tune of Wu Song.Besides,it has strong local cultural flavors of the Jiangnan region and appeals to both classic and popular tastes.It is very popular with many people.However,due to various kinds of objective reasons,Suzhou Opera has suffered a great depression during its development,and then it has been declining and becoming unknown for a long time.But fortunately,numerous people with lofty ideas and inheritors of Suzhou Opera have run for its reappearance and revival.Finally,a new compilation of the historical Suzhou Opera"Liu Rushi" re-entered the traditional Chinese opera stage and Suzhou opera can be revived again.The success of this drama has been largely inseparable from the careful selection and serious rehearsal of Wang Fang who is a famous Dan of Suzhou Opera and performing artist.She has wisely discovered this drama about humanistic stories with Suzhou Opera,and she has discussed it with the playwright Zheng Huaixing.They added new musical elements,used innovative techniques and adaptation on the basis of maintaining the traditional characteristics of Suzhou Opera.After eighteen revisions,they have co-created a new drama of Suzhou Opera——"Liu Rushi".Its stage show has promoted the renaissance of Suzhou Opera.At the same time,through this works,the outstanding Wu culture has been shown to more people,closely linking with Chinese Opera.The works has made outstanding contributions to the Inheritance and development of Suzhou opera,meanwhile,it has greatly contributed to the spread of Wu culture.
