There are two suspects remaining controversy on Professor Wang Kuowei ever since his departure. One is his critical change in academic research during around two decades, that is, what he is devoted to; the other, is why he said, that all should was a death when at fifty, that is, the sooth of his death. And the two are sentimentally attached to each other, revealing both his life pursuing. Yet introvert-faithful, Wang would never declare nor defend himself, but left an eternal silence, hence the various suggestions then and afterwards. Therefore this paper, based on a close reading into the event, strives to approach his story through his own poetry and scripts, with reference to Professor (?) memory pieces, especially the master work, a Biography of Liu Rushi, as well as other scholars’speculations. Shadow still, yet certain light might be cast upon through the mirror-like approaching, hence a sympathetic interpretation, when the dust of that period of history has long been settled.
