Chinese New Year is the most grand,lively,and important ancient traditional festival.During Lunar New Year,the land of southern Shanxi is carrying out a variety of traditionl activities with rich and unique local characteristics.These activities are mainly focused on worshipping ancestors,payign respect to their ancestors,gettign rid of old cloth,welcoming new people,and praying for prosperity.Customs in My Hometown is a film that records "Chinese Tradional Year" as the theme.The total length of this documentary is about 30 minutes and the shooting place is my hometown Yuncheng,Shanxi Province.This film is based on records,uses the way of shooting the real film,uses the method of producing independent documentaries,combines real records with character interviews.It is recorded and created from the embodiment of Chinese traditional folk culture,the record of Chinese Traditional Year and eastern and western cultures merge of these three major angles of view.The film has a clear timeline,including the preparations for the Chinese New Year before the Chinese New Year,going through the New Year's Eve,the holding of various traditional folk activities at the beginning of the Lunar New Year,and finally to the return of the travellers to their jobs and preparations for their return,symbolizing the end of the traditional "Year".The contents include "Chinese New Year for foreign students in China","How to celebrate Chinese New Year in Chinese Temples","Ice carrying ceremony","Paper-cut Intangible Cultural Heritage","Muppet Drama" and so on.Through the display of these cultural activities,we explore a deeper level of cultural connotation.
